A convenient tool that helps interpret the results of animal blood tests. Useful for both doctor and quadruped owners.
Based on the results of blood morphology and biochemistry, the application shows a list of all possible causes that may have caused a deviation from the norm. This is the so-called differential diagnosis, based on which, rejecting further suspicions, we arrive at the final diagnosis.
No application can replace a doctors work, but Check Pet can significantly facilitate this work. If you are the owner of a pet, Check Pet will help you check whats wrong with your pet. Our application was created based on professional medical literature - it is a much more reliable source of information than randomly selected and unverified opinions that you can find on the Internet.
You can check 13 morphology parameters and 34 biochemistry parameters. Each parameter has established standards for six animal species (dog, cat, horse, rabbit, guinea pig, hamster). Each parameter above and below the norm has a matched list of potential causes that may have caused a decrease or increase in the result (e.g., all possible causes of too few erythrocytes)
• The application automatically captures and highlights causes as more likely if more than one test parameter indicates a given condition, e.g., renal failure - such a reason is highlighted as more likely.
• The application automatically calculates the ratio of albumin to globulins and takes this relationship into account when suggesting a potential cause.
• The application takes into account the relationship between total protein and hematocrit when suggesting a potential cause.
• The application takes into account the biochemical test method and indicates which results should not be taken into account because they are disturbed by too high a result of another parameter (interference generated during spectrophotometry) - e.g., when the patient is not fasting and high triglyceride values prevent proper interpretation of AST or ALT
• The application maintains a history of results broken down into patients. You can safely store data about your pets treatment history.
Remember, the phone will never make a medical diagnosis on its own, but from now on, it can effectively help!
